Lets say the owner cannot pay the mortgage and house goes on foreclosure and there is a tax lien on the property. The property is worth less than what is owed, no equity. What happens to the tax lien?
You mean the person that purchases the home is the one paying for the pending lien?

how do i remove tax liens that were paid in full?

i bought tax liens (1994 thru 2003) on a house in 2004 and foreclosed finally in may 2007 (may paid 2004 thru 2007 back taxes) so the house is mine to gut and rehab. the tax collector said i needed to remove the tax liens . my attorney implied i could do it myself but i haven't been able to reach him. what is the process to take the liens off? thank you.

How much should I invest in tax liens?

I want to invest in tax liens , but I see lien prices that range from 1k -18k. Should I go for 1 or 2 $10k liens or spread the investment out by getting a bunch of $1k liens? My investment strategy is to get interest NOT own the property.
